Karen Christensen, LPC, LSOTP, CSAT
Karen Christensen, LPC-S, LSOTP-S, CSAT is the founder and owner and of Rinnovare Counseling Center. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider Supervisor (LSOTP-S), and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). With a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling, Karen is dedicated to providing confidential, focused, evidence-based, and individualized counseling services with a compassionate style aimed at empowering individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and transformation.

With a focus on creating a safe and non-judgmental environment, Karen helps clients navigate their challenges, heal from past traumas, and develop the skills needed for a fulfilling, balanced life and relationships. As an LPC and LSOTP supervisor, she is passionate about inspiring, mentoring, and guiding the next generation of mental health professionals, fostering an atmosphere of growth, learning, and self-discovery.

Karen’s expertise includes treating problematic sexual behaviors (sex addiction, pornography addiction, and sex offending), betrayal trauma, and complex trauma. She also assists adults dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and grief. Her evidence-based counseling approaches include EMDR therapy, psycho-educational, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, experiential, and relapse prevention techniques.

Dayjha Cheatham, LPC, LSOTP, CAMS-II
​DJ is a therapist who specializes in treating youth, young adults, and families experiencing maladaptive behaviors, problems with conduct, issues with self-esteem, and conflict within the family system. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in psychology and then pursued an MA in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider, and Certified Anger Management Specialist-II. Prior to entering private practice, she gained experience working with many individuals learning how to better manage or cope with depression, anxiety, and anger; as well as those with a history of antisocial and sexually offending behavior.

While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the primary approach she uses in her work, DJ is also trained to meet the unique needs of clients by using various other therapeutic approaches and treatment modalities as necessary. Her practice with youth is developmentally informed and uses techniques pulled from child-centered protocols and training. She builds treatment with all her clients around evidence-based interventions. She maintains an ever-growing list of resources, and enjoys providing clients with the information and the tools they need to feel equipped for their world when walking out of her office.

Abigail and Henry
Including animals in the therapeutic process can help increase trust, enhance the ability to bond and reduce symptoms related to several mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and anger. Abigail and Henry are miniature Goldendoodles, which Karen owns and handles, who have earned Canine Good Citizen certification through The American Kennel Club. As trained therapy dogs.
